Warrior Within is the second chapter of the Sands of Time trilogy. Derided as the weakest of the three, Warrior Within nevertheless was a good action game, loaded with then-hot combat and some good platforming. Really, I think the cheesy grunge prince is what put folks off, and understandably so. He looks and acts like somebody in marketing walked by the art department and said "make him edgier." And they did, just for the sake of edginess in an era of so-called gritty games at the height of the PS2's popularity. 

Here, the Prince must venture to the Island of Time to battle the Empress of Time and hopefully undo the creation of the troublesome Sands of Time. (That's far too many "of Time" things.) Once the Prince lands, he sets out across over 20 stages of platforming-combat action that shift between different time lines. In many respects, Warrior Within felt like two games competing for attention.
